Mitsubishi sold

Well that went better than we thought it might. The truck was passed in after the first auction, but someone came later to do some negotiating and bought it. We got a bit more than our minimum, so that was good too.

On Sunday I went with the local tramping club to McLaren Falls up in the Kaimai Ranges. It started life as a power station in the 1920's and then a local tree group got together had planted lots and lots of trees, so it is a very pretty place. Even on a cooler day there were lots of families enjoying the sunshine. We wandered up and down the tracks and also along the path that runs along side the Ruahihi canal that takes the water to the Ruahihi dam on SH 29 to Tauranga. I have always wondered where the water came from for the dam and now I know.

McLaren Falls. Not so impressive when the water is held back by the small dam

It was on a Wednesday morning that the plumber came to call.

It isn't really as bad as the title of today's message sounds.

We decided that the washing machine would fit inside the caravan, so we have put it just inside the door, tucked under the bench. It is plumbed into the water supply and the waste water pipe. Eddie could have done it, but with his vertigo coming on if he goes upside down, we decided to get the plumber in. A nice young man from Comag Ltd came along and put it into place yesterday afternoon. It worked a treat this morning.

With hind sight we perhaps should have got a front loader, but I can lift the lid enough to get the washing in.

No news yet of the Mitsubishi sale.

Farewell to the Bronze Whaler

On the weekend we took the Mitsubishi to the truck auction in Hamilton. It won't be in this weeks auction, but it gives them time to advertise it on their web site. Fingers crossed it won't take too long to sell. I don't think we will change our name - mostly because I don't know what to change it too.

We also bought an automatic washing machine. It is only little, so towels and sheets will have to be done at the laundry, but otherwise it should work well. It has a clear lid, which is quite unusual and is a bit odd to see the clothes washing and spinning. Quite handy to make sure it isn't too full though.
