A weekend at Raglan

Last weekend we went to Raglan for a bit of a family gathering. It was Eddie's niece's birthday and she decided a weekend at Raglan was just the way to celebrate. We were going to take the 5th wheeler, but the camping ground wanted to charge us for 2 sites, so it worked out not to be much more to stay at a motel, so that's what we ended up doing.

We had a little  visitor while we were staying there. He was very happy to be patted, but did expect to be fed whenever he showed up. He came from over the fence. I expect he did quite well from other guests that stayed there.

We had a spa pool attached to our unit so we had a soak on Friday night, which was very relaxing.

The weather was perfect and we even managed to get in a swim on Saturday afternoon.

new paint

The weather continues to be summery, which is great.

We are back to work today, so that's a bit sad. The new diesel heater is in and functions well, as does the new hot water system. The bathroom and the bedroom are still to be painted. He will get there eventually. Our living area looks really great.

On Thursday we went across to Tauranga and did a bit of shopping at the RV shop and then went on to Katikati to visit our friends we stayed with when we first started traveling. It took 2 hours to get from Tauranga to Katikati which is normally a half hour drive. The traffic was nose to tail all the way. One car overtook on a passing lane. There's always one idiot. It was much quicker coming home.

We bought Eddie a new computer on Friday. I managed to get entangled with it one day, when it was on the floor and broke the screen. He had an octopus shape crack on the screen which was getting bigger, with more tentacles. He has a smaller one now and has spent the weekend getting used to it and transferring things across. There hasn't been too much wailing, so that was good. We could have done with a grandchild to help.
