Stormy weather

It was a dark and stormy night was never more true than last night. The rain blew right underneath the awning, so that our chairs and everything else stored there, was wet this morning. Yesterday afternoon, we thought perhaps we should put the full awning up, but by then it was too windy. We put it up when there was a break in the rain this morning and it hasn't rained since. Of course! It's been a lovely day. I even got the washing dry.

It's the first real rain we have had since we came up a month ago. It is very welcome, although Eddie is only half way through mowing the lawns. It might have to wait for another day.

We have been learning the new booking in system. It is a lot to get our heads around and the screen is very busy with lots of choices, so that slows things down. I have been putting in the Easter bookings for most of the week, so I am starting to feel more confident with it. Eddie not so much. He has been doing his outside work and hasn't really had a chance yet. We will be about half full for Easter, so Nita is pleased about that.

Benny was put to sleep today. Nita's partner has come up from Auckland, so she won't be on her own tonight.

Washing machines and gardens

Still very warm and summery here, so we go to the beach or estuary when we can.

Not much is really happening. We had a good weekend, with quite a few campers in. It is quieter now with just a few in.

We got a new washing machine for the camping ground installed last Friday. It came on Thursday, but we couldn't make it work. It turned out they hadn't finished programming it properly. They have only had one all summer. It was one of the things the manager never quite got around too doing. Eddie organized it on his second day. It wasn't hard at all. Say no more.

Nita came home with some more vege plants last week, so the garden is starting to look quite good. There was a ridiculous number of silver beet plants in the punnet. I have put some by the campers kitchen for them to use.

Nita is a way again this week. She is learning how the new on line booking system works. Then she will come and teach us.

The pictures were taken from the top level of the camping ground. Not surprisingly it is a very popular place to camp.

Pataua South update

The weather is becoming a bit wet this afternoon and a bit cooler. I don't think we will be swimming today.

We are getting along very well in our new place of abode. Eddie is in his element with planning his days and getting the work done.

The gardens are going to take a while to get back into shape as they hadn't been done since we went away a year ago. When I have been around once, it will get quicker and much easier.

Nita has been away for a week, so we hope she is having a good time away from the camping ground. She is helping her partner with the redecorating of his bathroom, so she is quite busy and has no time to worry about us.

We had a busy weekend, but we got through it very well.

There are quite a few casual people turning up as the week goes along, so I am keeping busy with cleaning.

I have started to get the vege patch back into shape. I have dug over half of it to start some veges for the winter. Prices are just ridiculous at the moment. It will be good to get our own going. I bought some seedlings this morning when we went into town. The hose wasn't working, so Eddie sorted that out, so now I can plant and be sure of a good water supply.

I will do some photos for next week. I have been a bit slack lately.
