Pauanui

It is going to be sunny today and tomorrow too. It will be a nice change.

We had a lovely week off work and went to  Pauanui for a few days. Such a lovely place. We went with Eddie's sister and her husband. We stayed in a bach that belongs to her step daughter.

On Wednesday we had a bit of a walk down to check out the beach. It was still there ha ha and looking lovely.

On Thursday we decided to find our way to Eddie's niece's bach.  We put the GPS on in the phone, but I think we did a wrong turn, so we gave up on that and just navigated by instinct. Janice sort of knew where we were going. By the time we got back home, we had walked 6 ks. (according to my watch).
Eddie and I went and put the fishing line in the water in the afternoon, but no luck. It was nice to be out in the fresh air and the sunshine though.

On Friday Eddie had another go at fishing and Janice and I did a walk along the Pauanui Tairua track. It hasn't got to Tairua yet, but it is about half way there. We walked to Duck Creek. Whio Whio ducks live there, but we never saw any. We did 8.8 ks by the time we got back to the car.  Eddie had no luck in the fishing department, so we went for dinner at the local working men's club. Very nice too.

We came home on Saturday and caught up on some jobs around the place.  Eddie did some throwing out of stuff he hasn't used since we have been in the van. It's amazing how we keep finding things we haven't used. I did a drawer last week and took some stuff to the op shop.

Pictures of our walk on Friday.
