We
have had some rain and now it is a lot cooler. Last week we were only
2 or 3 degrees cooler than Brisbane, which was quite nice.
We
went and got the COF for the dodge on Saturday. We left home at 6.
There was a queue of 21 trucks ahead of us when we go there just
before 7. They had parked there overnight. There is such a back log
after the lock down for 4 weeks. The office lady suggested we go to
another station, not too far away. So off we went, with a couple in
their camper van. They made us a drink while we waited which was
nice. I had taken snacks, but not a hot drink. We got the COF.
Hooray! Just the 5th wheeler now. We finally got home at 1
pm. A very long morning.
We had to get some work done on the dodge, which didn't quite get finished before lock down, so we were very delayed in getting it.
Yesterday
some of the tramping club walked out to the Tower Museum (near where
we live), so I met them at the gate and walked back into town with
them and had a cup of tea at a cafe. It was great to catch up with
them after all this time. Soon we will be back into it. Hopefully I
will get a couple of tramps before we head off. We are leaving our jobs on the 10th July and going to Papamoa camping ground. Eddie has to have his prostate removed because of a tumor. His operation was delayed because of lock down, but we have a date now; the 16th July. We are going to a motel near the Waikato Hospital the night before as he has to be there at 7 am. I will stay there while he is in hospital. Once he is released, we will go back to Papamoa and he can heal on the beach. Once his is able to travel, we will be moving about and seeing the country again. We can't wait.
