We are actually having a summer's day today. With no rain and a hot sun. It is nearly 26 degrees in the awning. That's two days this week. Is summer really going to get here after all.
We had really heavy rain last night. ( photos below). The awning is in a bit of a hollow, so it fills up with rain. Luckily it is sandy soil and it drains away quickly too.
The camping ground is full as from the 26th, so we will be busy with the cleaning and any thing else that will need doing.
Eddie is finishing off the weed whacking and some lawns today. With the weather being so wet lately, he has got behind with his jobs. I think he will be caught up when he finishes today. He didn't take days off this week, so he can get finished.
Louise (she is our boss here at the camping ground) took us out to dinner on Sunday night for a Christmas shout. We had a lovely meal. It was a warm night, so we were quite happy out on the deck overlooking the boats in the Whakatane River. Eddie was in his element. He did a lot of horse trading in boats a few years ago. I think he would like to do it again given half a chance.
The road outside the camping ground is very busy now with lots of traffic going to the reserve at the end of the road. People are on holiday already.
