We have had a lovely sunny Easter weekend. The camp was full with lots of children riding their bikes. One ran into the back of the ram one day, but no damage to either child or truck. Quite a few slipped in the gravel on the corners, but not much damage was done. There was a mass exodus on Monday morning.
It was wet on Wednesday morning and I got rained off from the garden. It was nice later in the afternoon, so I got my hour in by the end of the day. I am making good progress with the garden. It is a lot quicker this time than it was last time I did it.
We had surprised visitors at 8:30 on Wednesday morning. Mike and Linda arrived on their bikes. We were just about to have breakfast. They had a cup of tea with us and then set off home. They have been going for bike rides most mornings over the summer.
Eddie went and did some fishing for the first time since we have been here one afternoon early in the week, but had no luck. He took the drone out on Friday and caught 3 sharks, 1 undersize snapper and a good size one, so it wasn't a complete wash out.
He has taken out an old pantry from the flat for Louise. It had a funny smell in it and she was over trying to get rid of it. It turned out it was the actual wood it was made of. It was compressed wood, so something must have happened in the making process. She is getting a new pantry to replace it.
Louise was running down the road one day, trying to catch up with Mike and fell over. We went to help her. She got quite a shock and felt sick for a few minutes. She lay on the road until she felt better. She has found a caravan with marajunia growing in it. She has rung the owner and he has no idea who would have a key to get in. People are very tricky. The police came later in the day, but I haven't heard what happened.
On Thursday, Eddie had an appointment to go to the Whakatane outpatients. We thought it was to have his eyes photographed for diabetes as there was no explanation in the email. When we got there it was for a doctor to look at the growth on his eye. Eddie said I had that looked at last week by a doctor from Tauranga. This doctor said it wasn’t a low grade cancer tumour. He said what it was and I wish I had got him to write it down, as I can’t remember what he said now. He said he would take it off in about 6 weeks time, so that is better than Tauranga. He said just to wait and see if they got to Eddie before he did. We will cancel it after he has it done in Whakatane. All very odd. We don’t know how he got 2 referrals.
I got stung by a paper wasp on Thursday. A camper had told me that people had been looking for the nest a few weeks ago. I didn’t see the nest, but I found a wasp the hard way. It was a bit itchy, but otherwise no reaction. I went home and got the fly spray and killed it
We had the most glorious autumn day on Monday. It was supposed to be cloudy, but we never got any until 5 pm, when Eddie was sitting out in the sun having his beer. He wasn’t very pleased.
Louise was away over the weekend in Napier for the Tom Jones concert.
I was in the office. I did a lot of knitting as it wasn’t very busy. I am knitting a Fair Isle vest. I finished a section of the pattern and then discovered I had made a mistake. I ummed and ahhed about fixing it. It was on the back and I thought, I wondered who would see it and then I thought I would, so I undid it quickly before I changed my mind. I got it re knitted before I went home and I am pleased I did it as it looks much better.
Eddie is working for Mike over the next 2 weeks while he is away.
