a dead battery

We were going to go for a ride on the bike on Saturday. When Eddie went to start it and the battery was dead flat. We were glad we hadn’t got our gear on before he started it. Eddie has found a battery online which will be here soon. It would have been worse if we went out and stopped for lunch and couldn't get it to go. Maybe next weekend.

Eddie woke up with a cold on Monday. He went to bed with a sore throat. He went back to bed after breakfast and was starting to feel better by the afternoon. He tested for covid and it was clear, so he was pleased about that.

It was a busy weekend being King’s birthday weekend. I don’t think I will ever get used to calling it King’s birthday when it has been called Queen’s birthday all my life. Every time I hear King's birthday weekend, I think of Elvis.

I got a good bit done in the garden on Monday. I got about ⅓ of the garden in front of the tourist flats. It's a lot easier now and I don't want it to get away when spring springs.

I took this photo down in Wairapapa. I don't think I have put it on the blog. It was a very pretty
tree.
